I don't fry much - stir fry or eggs. I use coconut oil mainly and occasionally butter. I keep no seed oils on hand. I also consume whole milk products only - no skim or 2%. My cholesterol has never been a problem, but after making these changes my total cholesterol dropped from 199 to 175. Total/hdl is 2.7.
Oh, I forgot grass fed butter is another good option so thanks for mentioning that. I think a lot of people cook with coconut oil as a healthier option.
I too am lucky to have access to local farmers. I try to avoid the grocery store. Making sure we are eating healthy is time consuming and a constant learning experience. But so important! I’m learning a lot from these posts. Thank you!

One thing I like about coconut oil is that it seems to tolerate more heat without scorching or burning.
Refined coconut oil can be used up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit; unrefined up to 350.

Your welcome-glad the posts are helping- that is my intention.
Read labels now more than ever. Use coconut oil mostly. DO NOT use seed oils either.
Drink raw milk and raw milk yogurt.
Wonderful! Glad that you have access to raw dairy. Do you have shares or can you buy it in a local store?
Directly from more than one store in the area. If course its "not for human consumption". I am in mid Florida now.
If anyone in PA or close (they deliver all over the state) there is a GREAT farm. You can get UPS delivery but not the milk over state lines.
