How to support a healthy aging process
I am sure I don’t need to tell you that a processed diet, sedentary and stressed lifestyle is going to age you faster. Switching to a whole foods diet filled with variety, colors and plants will support the aging process so that you can live independently longer but there is a very cheap supplement you can add in to support your healthy diet and lifestyle.
Niacinamide powder, 1to 1/2 of a 1/64th of a teaspoon three times daily as per Dr. Mercola (however he cannot save his posts for public viewing after 48 hours so I am unable to provide a link to the source).
I want to reiterate that using niacinamide as a supplement is not in place of a healthy lifestyle but in conjunction. If you sit much of the day and live off of fast food and prepared meals you need to work on that first!
But I will say, on a personal level, I have added in one to two doses of the powder daily and I have noticed an improvement in my energy levels.
Creatine: is it useful for head injuries, depression, anxiety, PTSD and Parkinson’s disease?
Most people think creatine supplementation is only for athletes looking to build more muscle mass but the truth is ceatine has other uses. A recent 2022 meta-analysis in Nutrients reviewed creatine’s effectiveness for brain dysfunction. click here to find out if you should try creatine
Mushroom powder and protein packed raw energy bites
A healthy snack for long days working outside, backpacking, hiking, or during endurance events.
Ingredients: 1 cup uncooked oats, 2/3 cup finely shredded coconut, 1/2 cup nut or seed butter of choice, 1/2 cup mushroom powder of choice, 1/3 cup honey, 1/4 cup chocolate protein powder of choice, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional).
Blend all ingredients together and form into balls. If they are dry and crumbly, add more nut/seed butter or drizzle on more honey. Store in fridge or place in freezer for later use.
Hi Karen, I didn't understand the measurements you listed for creatine 1 to 1/2 of a 1/64th of a teaspoon? Can you explain. 1/64th seems like a minuscule amount to try to measure out.
