My search for a "better" multivitamin/mineral. Here is what I found.
Does a quality organic multi v/m product exist?
A Search for a Clean Multivitamin/Mineral Supplement
Agent131711’s substack on supplements was eye-opening regarding extra-added ingredients.
I found one product in my supplement stock with numerous added ingredients: multivitamins/minerals.
Choosing an optimal multi-v/m supplement has always been a struggle for me, and I feel like I resigned myself to using products with added ingredients.
For instance, Euromedica (a privately owned company with products that I like and the founder has personally been helpful to me) has a multi m/v I have used over the years.
It has nutrients in absorbable forms, but it does contain some artificial ingredients. For instance, this multi v/m has minerals in the chelated form, folate (not folic acid, and B12 as methylcobalamin (vs. Cyanocobalamin).
But under Other Ingredients, it lists dicalcium phosphate, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, and glycerol stearate.
It does not contain gluten, wheat, artificial colorings, flavorings, or artificial sugars. This supplement is almost half the price of the one I will discuss below.
I started looking at all the different brands, and so far, the one that I found that I like based on the back label is this one:
Global Healing Organic Multivitamin with minerals
https://globalhealing.com/products/multivitamin
USD 69.95/30-day supply from their site.
Global Healing has some products on Fullscript but not the multivitamin/mineral.
It carries the USDA Organic Seal and has only two Other Ingredients (organic rice hulls and organic vegetable capsules). The list of nutrients is missing a few, such as magnesium and calcium, but perhaps some of this is contained in the antioxidant blend.
I emailed the company to find out why and ask if they can get this product onto the Fullscript site. They responded that I would have to talk to Fullscript and ask if they would add this product to their online supplement shop.
I will keep you posted on Fullscript's response. If they add the product to their shop, my US clients and paid US subscribers will be able to get a discount.
Quality supplements are expensive, and $70 for a multi-v/m for one person for one month is a lot of money! I know I cannot use that multi-v/m daily, continuously.
I am still searching, but thus far, this one looks the best, although very $$.
What multi v/m do you use?
Share a picture of the back label, and I will comment on a few of the labels.

I take mostly individual supplements. The closest thing to a multi that I take is a B complex from Puritan's Pride. I believe I first heard of PP in Prevention magazine many years ago - back when they were still a good source for health information, while Robert Rodale was still alive. I think PP was bought out by GNC several years ago, and I see from the chart in one of your previous articles that the Carlyle Group now owns them. Through the years, I've been generally happy with their products, and I haven't noticed any difference in quality as a result of the changes in ownership, although I'm in no position to perform a qualitative analysis.
Since I'm now a retired old gummer, I'm relying more on supplements to make sure I'm getting all of the nutrients necessary to stay healthy. I no longer have the appetite to eat ten+ helpings of vegetables and a pound of meat everyday, so the quality of the supplements that I take is becoming more of a priority for me. Do you have an opinion of PP products that you're willing to share?
Thanks for every word that you write. I enjoy your articles.
What do you think about Pure Encapsulations brand Pure Genomics Multivitamin? It's not organic, but is GMO. I was thinking a few weeks ago about switching from Pure Genomics to the Global Healing multivitamin. Generally speaking, I like Ed Group and his products. What do you think?
