Simply Orange by Coca-Cola: It is not so natural; after all
Coca-Cola is being sued for falsely advertising their Simple Orange juice product is natural. The lawsuit claims the beverage contains levels of PFAS that exceed the maximum recommended limit set by the EPA and that some of the types of PFAS in the product were found in levels 100 times greater than amounts recommended by the EPA in drinking water.
PFAS are known as forever chemicals because they do not quickly degrade; they can be found in everything from your carpet to food packaging and non-stick cookware to dental floss.

Bilberry for Dry Eyes: A New Study
With the recent OTC eye drop scare and bacteria contamination, perhaps it is an excellent time to approach dry eyes from a different route.
Your eye doctor may suggest taking fish oil. For some people, this works, but for many others, it does not.
Maybe bilberry is the solution?
Bilberry is associated with improved blood flow to the eyes, reduced inflammation, and optic nerve and retina protection.
In the study by Yu et al. (2023), researchers compared a control group to a group that received a low dose DHA (240 mg) supplied via Squina International group AND 600 mg. bilberry extract (150 mg anthocyanins) once daily before breakfast for three months. The small study of 24 people all had severe dry eye symptoms. The researchers used three instruments to determine outcomes, comparing baseline, one-month, and three-month results. Tear stability and tear quantity improved at the three-month mark.
This study used a higher bilberry dose than previous studies and included DHA. It would be helpful to have a group taking only DHA and a group only taking bilberry.
However, in my last substack, I mentioned that a DHA/EPA supplement might benefit most people. If you have dry eyes, it may be beneficial to add a bilberry supplement for three months and see the outcomes for yourself.
