Is your raw genetic data still on 23andMe?
Even though the company was sold, if you have not removed your data, you still can.
Note: I apologize for the lack of posts while I try to figure out the root causes and how to address them for my new “diagnosis.” I will share details soon.
How to remove your raw data from 23andMe and why it may still matter
If you have used 23andMe for genetic testing, even though the company has been sold, if you have not removed your raw data, you should still do so..
Here is the link to the directions for removing your data.

You should save your raw data first. This requires checking off a box to request your data and waiting several days for an email to download your data. After that, delete it from their site.
However, 23andMe, including all of its assets, was sold to Regeneron on May 19, 2025. Regeneron develops and markets new drugs, and you never consented via 23andMe to have your DNA used for such purposes.
If you decide to keep your data on the site, you can check off other boxes to decline consent to use your DNA, but I do not know how much protection this offers with the sale.
My posts will remain free in 2025. I do not post on mainstream social media. In fact, this is the ONLY place I post!
Show my posts some love if you enjoy them by buying me a cup of tea or a paid subscription, as it takes much of my free time to read, research, and write these posts.
Please share, comment, and like my posts and help spread the word about health misconceptions.
Thank you for sharing this information. I used Ancestry DNA, so now I’m wondering about them.
Hope you’re doing better!
