Supplements and herbs that can support your health
Lactium for Sleep, Stress, and Anxiety
Lactium, sourced from bioactive milk peptides, works on GABA receptors. Even though it is sourced from dairy, it is safe to supplement if you are lactose intolerant or have a dairy sensitivity.
Its uses include sleep, concentration, body recovery, anxiety, and stress.
Unlike benzodiazepines, the alpha-1 peptide does not bind to the site of the GABA-A receptor that is responsible for the sedating side effects of benzodiazepines. Lactium may be useful for relaxation by rebalancing the HPA pathway and supporting a healthy cortisol response during stress.
For stress and anxiety, take 200 mg twice daily.
For a specific event that requires concentration, such as a big test or presentation: take 150 mg for one month, then 300 mg for 2 weeks, and 600 mg on the day of the exam or presentation.
For improved sleep, a study indicated that 4 weeks of 300 mg of lactium improved sleep outcomes.
More research is needed on Lactium, but if you deal with chronic stress, anxiety, or sleep difficulties, it may be an option to try for 4 weeks to determine if it works for you.
Products: Pure Encapsulation and DAmlaas Laboratories Serniten Plus contains 175 mg of Lactium per capsule. Protocol for Life Clinical Stress Relief and Progressive Labs Gaba-Val contains 150 mg per capsule. Other products may contain smaller amounts.

More good news for Amla
Amla, also known as Indian Gooseberry, is a revered fruit in India known as a blood purifier and a mucous membrane tonic. The fruit is very rich in vitamin C. If you are familiar with Triphala, it is one of the three fruits in this ayurvedic blend.
A new study by Majeed et al. (2022) found that 2 g of amla extra compared to 1 g or 500 mg of metformin for 90 days saw more significant improvements in blood sugar levels.
However, to reap this 2 g benefit, you may need to use a higher dose than a product label suggests. For instance, Euromedica and Metabolic Code have 1 g in 2 capsules, so you would need to take 4 capsules. The 1 g group also saw improvements, so depending on your blood sugar issues, 1 g may suffice.
Try it if you had a previously higher-than-normal A1C test for 90 days before your next test.

Your Doctor and How They May be Harming Your Health
I was talking to a woman whose stepson is a medical doctor. His health started to decline, and his lab work came back with poor results. He ended up not taking medication but switching his diet and his health improved.
He told his stepmother that he did not learn anything about nutrition in medical school and had to learn on his own about diet and to use it to improve his health.
This information does not surprise me, yet I am amazed by all the conventional medical doctors that dole out nutrition advice to their patients without an education in it. Furthermore, I am amazed by how their patients blindly follow this advice even when I tell them it is wrong.
I am not a doctor and do not diagnose, treat or cure. But your conventional medical doctor is not a nutritionist and should not be giving you diet and supplement advice.
